4TH OF JULY 2015

How was your 4th of July? Did you stay in or venture out?  Usually each year we stay close to home, or stay home all together.  But this year my sister in law invited us to go to Big Bear with them, so we decided to go.
Big Bear is a small little town in the mountains not far from where we live.  It was great weather, about 22 degrees cooler up there on that day.  Perfect for a nice relaxing day.
Driving through town it was packed and I was worried we were not going to find a good spot anywhere.  But we did, thankfully.  We parked on the side of the road and made our way down to the shore.  We got a perfect spot because we were all by ourselves.  We set up our chairs and the first thing the kids wanted to do was jump in the water.
They all played so good together and it was such a nice day.

Hannah, Caleb, Hailee, Chloe and little Jacob.
Little Jacob, Chloe and Hannah in the water.  Little Jacob has been doing so good this year with going in the water, and under the water.  He is our more cautious one and this year he is bound and determined to fight that fear and become a swimmer.  We are so proud of him, he has been doing great.

Me and Jacob.  He says this is his smile.  He hates taking pictures.  :)
I of course had to do a fun silhouette shot of the kids at the lake.  We did a holding hands one, but then I told them to do their own thing and this is what they did.  Too cute.
All three of my guys caught a fish. This was the first fish little Jacob has ever caught.  He was so excited.  We brought home 6 catfish and my father in law had thrown back about 6 or so before they started keeping them.

Then we stayed for fireworks.  They were so good. We had a great spot with nothing blocking our view.  They were right over the water and it was a pretty amazing show. I am so glad we went to see them.

A fun little thing I shared that morning on facebook and instagram was this little collage I made of the kids from a few different years all on 4th of July.  It is fun to see how they have changed over the years.

And another fun little thing I shared was this side by side of Chloe at 5 1/2 months and my niece Lily a few years ago when I did her pictures at 2 months.  I am going to frame these together on our wall.

I hope you had a great 4th of July.
We are hoping this is our last 4th of July in California.  We are headed to Arizona again this week for another job interview for Jacob.  The same plant but a completely different job.  Praying that this is what is in God's plan for us.  We shall see.  But I am excited to get away for a few days at least.
