Random Ramblings: I LOVE USA LAYOUT

Thursday, July 16, 2015

This past weekend I was over on the CLEAR SCRAPS CREATING MADE EASY KIT CLUB BLOG with a patriotic layout to share.
This kit was so fun for some fun patriotic projects and a layout this month.
You can find all the information on this months kit HERE.

I started with the blue star paper as my background and added some of the creamy white paper to the top of that. I printed my journaling on this paper too.    I ripped some of it off and added some coordinating red paper behind that to show through to the front.

One of my favorite things to do is collect tags from clothing we purchase or get.  The tags are always so different and fun to use as an element on my scrapbook pages.
For this layout I went through my collection of tags and found a few that matched perfect.  One of my most favorite tags ever is the tan one with the writing and the three small red white and blue stars on it.  I added these tags to the top of the layout and added in a clear triangle banner piece with them, for some fun added elements to the layout.

I made a flag by taking a pearl pin and glued on some star patterned paper, which I cut into a flag on the end, and added it to the layout using a pop dot.
I cut out the I (heart) USA tag from part of the patterend paper and flag notched the bottom of it and added that to the top of the white paper, as my title for the layout.
I added a half a doiley to the top of the whtie paper and added a strip of photos across the page.  I added the swirly felt strip under the photo strip.
I cut out some of the stars on one of the patterend papers and cut some small scalloped circles out of the star vellum.  I added the circles to the layout and topped them with the cut out stars.  I added some wood veneer stars I had on hand scattered around the layout as well.
I added  the date with some silver thick stickers I had.  I then used the tiny circles on the alphabet sticker sheet in the same way I would use enamel dots.  I cut out some words from the patterned paper and added those under the silver "enamel" dots.  For a few extra added elements to the layout I added a few tiny paper clips and some silver glittery washi tape.
Thank you for stopping by to check out my layout.  This kit was so much fun for all my patriotic projects and layout.
