1.  We are finally getting rid of the puppies today. All 5 of them are finding new homes.  It is a little sad, but there is just no way we can have that many dogs.

2. The other day it was freezing cold, today it is almost 80 degrees again.  This weather is insanly moody for sure.

3.  Jacob got the garden all finished yesterday and we got most of the seeds all planted, tonight we just need to finish up the last row or two. I can't wait to see how it does this year.

4.  I got a few sign orders today, which always makes me so happy. I love doing the signs, and I would love for it to be full in demand all the time.

5.  I have been doing so good at keeping on top of all our laundry. If you knew me , you would know how much of an accomplishment this is. :)

6. My kids only have 3 weeks and 2 days of school left for this year.  YAY!

7. Also on that same not of school it also then means that our little miss Chloe starts school in July and that is so close I don't know if we are really ready for them to all be in school.  Who is going to be my little helper and daddys little shadow at home during the day now?

8.  I have no clue what to make for dinner tonight and it is already 5:15...ugh  Anything I don't have to cook sounds great right about now.

I recently joined with a team of other ladies to read an advanced version of this book before it was even published. I was so excited.

I started following Krista from Project Life.  She was on their design team and I loved reading her blog and her way of documenting life and recording it.  I was so excited to be able to join her team on this adventure with her.  This isn't her first book, and I am so happy for her.  I wish her the best of luck with this adventure in her life.

Let me tell you I LOVED THIS BOOK.  It was a great romantic book, but not overly too mushy but also follows as Maggie grows and finds herself.  I think that there are parts in the book that anyone can relate to , you don't just have to be single or a photographer. I highly reccomend this book and can't wait to get an actual copy in my hands.

If anyone wants some book marks I have a bunch on hand and would gladly mail you out some if you would like them.  They are even signed by Krista herself.

Here is a little info on the book.

This is the official book trailer for the contemporary romance novel, GOODBYE, MAGNOLIA by Krista Noorman. Release date May 19, 2015.

Book synopsis:
Wedding photography is Maggie's passion. The art of capturing a moment forever in time is magical to her, and she's worked hard to become the best of the best. Week after week, she works with couples as they plan their "happily ever afters", but she hasn't been so lucky in love.

Behind the camera, it's easy to hide from the pain and rejection of her past. The life she has made for herself is safe and predictable, until the owner of a rival photography studio sets up shop in her small town and comes to her with an unexpected proposal. Suddenly, everything she has worked so hard to build is threatened and her simple, controlled life is thrown into chaos.

As she travels the state of Michigan photographing weddings, she struggles to keep her business afloat and the wall around her heart intact. But along the way, she learns more about loyalty and love than she ever imagined.

1.   I overslept this  morning, well I heard the first alarm which is like my wake up notice.  Then I have about 15 minutes to lay in bed and wake up before the alarm goes off again and I need to get the boys up for school.  Well today I guess I didn't hear the second one and kept on sleeping. I woke up 10 minutes before we need to leave to get the boys to school on time.  We did good, they were only about 10 minutes late for school.  I really need to invest in an alarm clock for their bedroom.

2.   It has been really nice weather here lately, but today it turned overcast and started to rain just a tiny bit.  Hey something is better than nothing though.  It was nice while it lasted. I hope the weather man is right and we get a little more.

3.   I am working on making some Christmas ornaments.  Yep, already. I work part time for my parents who run High Desert Baptist Association, and my step father is the Director of Missions.  Last year I made some door prizes for their annual Christmas party.  Well this year they are having me make 125 Christmas ornaments.  So needless to stay I need to get started right away, to ensure I get them all done by then.

4.    Tonight I made my grandmas spaghetti for dinner.  Every time I make it I feel like I am getting closer and closer to making it just like hers.  No matter how many times I have tried over the years it just is never the exact same. I hope one day my grandkids will love mine just like everyone loves Mamaws.

5.   I am going to a guest blogger talking about Project Life real soon, so I am working on the blog post write up tonight.

6.   We did big grocery shopping last Wednesday and it has been SO nice not having to go back to the store every single day. I used to be so good about shopping every payday and then this last year I got out of the habit and we end up going almost daily or every other day. I hate the grocery store and this has been so great not having to go.

7.    I am dying to get out my sewing machine.  It feels like it has been forever since I sewed anything. I was looking for something the other day and got side tract and went through my fabric stash and came across some fun bright fabric I am dying to make Chloe a summer dress with.

8.    I have a big tumbler order coming up that I am excited to work on .  It is for a girl scout troop and I am personalizing all the tumblers and they are going to give them to the girls with all their patches in it at their bridging ceremony. I even ordered some fun girl scout ribbon to match.

9.    I am finally getting caught up on Revenge.  It is getting so good. I am still back on episodes from 2014 but I am slowly getting there, one episode at a time.

10.   Chloe and I ran an errand with Jacob this morning and he kindly stopped at Hobby Lobby for me to run in and grab a few bottles of paint I needed.  I walked out only spending $7.48.  I think that is a world record for me, usually I am in there no less an hour and spend over $20 at least.  Thank you so much to my hubby for stopping, it was so nice to visit my all time favorite store, it has been a while since I was there.  :)

11.  Just for fun, I thought I would share with you that this is one of my current favorite fonts, EVER.  It is called Sweet Pea and you can download it for free at dafont.com

I don't know if Teacher Appreciation is an actual set date ( I don't remember this ever being a thing before) but I do know that at my kids school it is coming up very soon.  So I thought I would share some of the past gifts I have made for the teachers to give you some ideas.  I have some other ideas planned for this year, but I will share those starting tomorrow.

One of my all time favorite things that I made was for Little Jacob's kindergarten teacher.  We loved her so much!  Find the directions for this one HERE.

This one was from last year.  I put some mini hand sanitizers in a bag and tied it up with a tag.  Super quick and easy and looks so nice.  Find out how I put this one together HERE.

This one was from last year too.  Find out the details on this super easy Starbucks card HERE.

This goody box was fun to fill with homemade chocolate chip cookies to give to the teachers.  Find out the details HERE about this fun cookie box.

I love reusable plastic tumblers.  I have several of my own.  I thought for sure the teachers would love these cups I made.  Find out the details of the tumblers HERE.  After I was finished with them, I filled it with some fun goodies.

This wasn't a gift for teacher appreciation week, but a gift I made for the teachers as part of a Christmas gift.  I made them each a set of 10 of these cards.  Find out how I made these cards HERE

This was so much fun to send the teachers a live planted flower pot.  I painted the flower pot to look like a chalkboard with a ruler rim.  This was so fun.  Find out the details on this one HERE.

These are just some ideas for Teacher Appreciation Gifts.  I need one or two more ideas for a full week of gift ideas, and I will start sharing those tomorrow.  :)

What kind of gifts do you give your kids teachers?

Finally I am going to share the rest of the pictures from our Arizona trip back in February.  Better late than never right.  :)

When we were visiting Arizona Jacob had to go to the cement plant and me and the kids had no plans in mind.  This was nice.  We decided to go downstairs and have breakfast first after Jacob left.  They have complimentary buffet breakfast and it was really good.  They had a good variety of things to choose from.  There were no table left to sit at so we sat on the couches in front of the fire place.  That was really nice and the kids loved it.  Chloe was chatty as usual and made friends with the ladies that worked there and even colored one a Frozen picture, that they hung up in their kitchen area.

After breakfast we went back up to the room and got showered and dressed.  Then we headed out to take a walk and explore what we could that was within walking distance.

First we came across this Performing Arts Center.

This hotel is pretty awesome looking.  I love the old time feel of this town with all the old brick buildings.

I love that so many of the old original buildings are still there, but have other things inside them now.  Look at the detail in these buildings, what character they have.  I bet they have so many stories inside these walls.

This is a few from a corner looking down into the middle of town.

In the middle of town, the center of it all is the courthouse.  It is so beautiful.  I can't even believe how amazing it is.  I love this statue in front.  Nothing like the one that is local to us now.

I told the kids to sit on the stairs of the courthouse and I would take their picture.  Of course to them that meant the top set of stairs lol.

On the grass of the courthouse is this gazebo and this plaque that tells a little history about it.  I love reading stuff like this.

Here are the kids sitting in the gazebo for a quick picture.

I loved just walking around and looking at all the little shops and restaurants.
I stopped after we crossed the street and looked up, I thought it was a pretty cool angle.

This is before we crossed the street to that corner.

There were so many cool shops.  There were tons of shops where you go inside one building and inside there are a ton of others, like little mini malls.  And all that brick, I love it so much.

This is what the town calls Whiskey Row.  This is the street that the old time Wyatt Erp romed around on.

A quaint little book store.

Even a pet photography studio.  I LOVE this!
After we walked around, we stopped next to our hotel and we had Chipotle for lunch and then headed back to our room and relaxed.  It was nice to just relax.  Usually when you go on a vacation you have all these plans and you don't stop. So even though this wasn't a real "vacation" it was nice to get out of town and have no plans and just be able to relax.

It was such a nice trip and I am so glad we got to go.
We know now that it isn't going to work out at this time for us to move there. I am so sad, but I know that it just isn't meant to be at this time.  God has a plan for us, and when one door opens another opens.  So even though I was dead set on moving right away, I am ok with where we are at this moment.

I truly recommend if you ever get a chance to visit Prescott Arizona, it is truly a beautiful little town, which definitely will always have a piece of my heart.
Maybe one day we will be able to call it home as well.

I have had the project life app on my phone for some time and dabbled in playing with it, but never actually completed a page.  But that was in the past and I have now completed 2 pages.
Last year I decided that I wanted to make a family recipe album, but buying all the supplies and not really having an exact plan or idea was a little overwhelming.  Then I read Becky Higgins talking about her recipe album pages and it hit me that I could just do it with the app and print the pages out.  BRILLIANT.

I started playing around last week with this layout.  I thought it would be fun to document all our current favorite tv shows that we watch.  So from my phone I just searched for those shows, and did a screen shot of the show picture, and then plugged them into my layout.  Added a little journaling with the name of each show and the date and just like that it was all done.  Took barely any time at all.

Then I whipped this one out the other night WHILE I was making this dinner.  I just snapped some photos as I was making it and while a batch of taquitos was in the oil cooking.  It is so much fun to just sit down and make a scrapbook page.

I am going to wait to print them out until I have several at once that I can print.  I am going to print the tv show layout in 12x12 to go into our family 2015 album, and the recipe page I think I am going to do the same as Becky Higgins and print those in 8x8 size.

If you haven't tried the Project Life App yet I highly recommend you give it a try. At the moment it is only available for iphones (and ipads I think too), but they are working on the android version currently.

Have you made any digital scrapbook pages before?  I was always against digital scrapbooking before I think this has brought it to a new level and the times are changing and it is just so easy to do from my phone and I love that.  I don't have tons of time to do alot of physical scrapbooking lately so this is perfect.
I would love to see your pages too!

1. It is cold and windy out today.  I hope it rains like the forecast says, but I will believe that when I see it.

2.  Tonight I am making Abondigas soup again.  Soup is just a great go to dinner when it is cold outside.

3.  There are only 7 weeks of school left for the boys. YIKES.  Then they all 3 start back in July.

4.  I am working on a layout for my Layout a Day design Team project today.

5.  I need to do this years hand prints of the kids and I keep forgetting.

6.  My term on the silhouette design team is officially over now.  I am sad, I will miss it but I am also looking forward to all the new inspiration.

7.  I was in bed the entire day on Easter.  Between my horrible stomach ache and migraine it was nice to just stay in bed all day.  The kids didn't fight one bit.  Jacob made us a yummy roast, with potatoes and carrots for dinner. I did manage to move from the bed to the couch that evening and we watched the movie 22 Jumpstreet on HBO.  Very funny movie.

8.  I had a photoshoot on Saturday and can't wait to start editing them.  He was such a cutie.  He was not feeling 100% but we still got some good ones.

9.  I applied for a job with Apple Care.  We will see how it goes, if I get an interview.  We have been talking about me going back to work since Chloe will be in school starting in July.

10.  I have a Failure to Appear Jury Duty summons for the end of April that I CANNOT forget about.

PROJECT LIFE 2015 : week 3

PROJECT LIFE 2015 ; week 3

Ramblings from week 3 :

SUNDAY : We got rain today, so Chloe put on her rain boots and jacket and her and Jacob ran around in the rain for a few minutes.
Chloe got out of bed tonight and said if she helped me with my nightly "chores" they would get done much faster.  So she helped me do the dishes, load the dishwasher, switch the laundry, fold the laundry and then put it away.

MONDAY : After school I made the kids homemade smoothies and chocolate chip cookies.  YUM.

TUESDAY : Little Jacob was home from school today with a slight fever and sore throat.  He stayed in bed and watched movies.  I made chicken and dumplings for dinner since it is cold, and good for a cold.

WEDNESDAY : Chloe has a new obsession, it is shopkins.  They don't do anything just are these tiny little figurines of fruits and veggies and household goods.
Jacob has not been able to put down his book lately.  He has been reading non stop. I love that he is finding his love of reading.
Tonight Chloe is so upset with me that we are all caught up on the laundry.  She even cried real tears because we had no nightly chores to do.  Silly girl, I hope she always likes "chores" this much.

THURSDAY : Out running errands today, so we stopped for lunch at a Japanese restaurant and Chloe always has to sit by daddy and she was giving him hugs.  She is such a daddy's girl.  I love it.

FRIDAY : Friday's are short days at school, so after we picked the boys up we went to Silverwood to go fishing.  We met grandpa, Aunt Jamie, Uncle Casey and Uncle Daniel there.  We had to hike what seemed like 5 miles to get to our fishing spot too.

I am excited to share that I was asked back to the LAYOUT A WEEK DESIGN TEAM.  I am excited, and am really hoping it gets me back on track with some scrapbooking traditional layouts.  :)

You can see the DESIGN TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT HERE on the blog.
